Free Editing Programs

Free Web Site Editor

This is the free HTML editor to make updates on your web site. You will need your FTP details, and a little knowledge or the inclination to learn how to use it.

I have checked out Pagebreeze, which is free and easy to use. I believe CMS like Joomla are quite difficult especially for  someone not familiar with web design or programming, so in my opinion, it is not for clients wishing to update a few words, add some photos, or offer news which could be a breeze with Pagebreeze, Blogger, WordPress or Tandemsever. Tandemserver are free (and easy) to add pages, contact forms, images etc, but it costs $99 to buy a licence and have the banner removed. Currently looking into WordPress for ease of use and features for web clients. Check out more info on free Content Management Systems.

Runescape - online strategy game. Free to use or you may upgrade. Build skills, buy and sell weapons and tools, learn to fish, cook, mine for gold to make jewellery, etc. Interactive game with people all over the world playing characters side by side.
This is my favourite online game. Ages 10 - Adult.

Maplestory - Free Download Japanese style animation platform game where your character can roam the world, killing things etc, do quests and missions, and level up. Ages 8 - Adult.

Website fun tools

Slideshow - This is the favourite for myspace users. Share your photos on myspace, facebook, bebo and your own website. Also has a new feature 'funpix' to personalise your photos with funny stickers and comments. This slideshow is free and easy to use.

Guestbook - This guestbook is also a myspace users favourite. It shows a worldwide map where you can view where your visitors are, they can also include a photo and a comment, and it rotates the visitors. Can be shared on myspace, facebook and websites.

Music Jukebox - Project Playlist. Create a free music myspace playlist, share with friends, listen to myspace playlists and more. This playlist is great, collect your favourite mp3's and then place code on myspace or your own website. Update your songs from your online account and it updates the songs on your website, without having to edit the code. This is my favourite.

Being free is also a bonus.

istock Photo costs as little as $1 per photo. For standard web page images, the small size is generally acceptable. Images required for a top navigation or graphic feature would require a higher resolution.
